  Dr. (MRS). Janak Palta McGilligan

Dr Janak is an MA in English, M.Phil in Political Science and Ph. D in Training of Tribal Women as Human Resource.

She currently holds the following positions:

  • Director Of Barli Institute for Tribal Women (since 1983).
  • Supervisor of international interns, volunteers and researchers from various universities.
  • Chairperson of Mahila Sashaktikaran Maha Sangathan, Indore.

Dr. Janak has been working tirelessly for 24 years for empowerment of rural and tribal women through Barli Institute from the day of it's establishment. She is also resource person for UNICEF, National Institute of Public Cooperation and child development (NIPCCID)) and many other NGOs in MP.

She has authored more than 100 published research articles on subjects relating to empowerment of women, literacy, environment, laws for women, rights of women laborers etc. Dr. Janak has received many awards for her work. Some of the most recent are - Manav Seva Award by Rotary Club, Sadbhavana Samman, Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar.

  Mrs. Shubha Vaidya

Mrs. Shubha Vaidya has a diploma in Applied Arts from J J Institute of Applied Arts Mumbai and a diploma in Arts Appreciation from Khairagarh University.
Shubhaji is ex member of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal. She is trustee of Narayan Mandapam,Indore. She is also a member of Human Rights Commission , MP.

Apart from the above she has been conducting Shankar's International Children's World Paintings Exhibition. Shubhaji has participated in various art exhibitions across the country and has also organized solo exhibitions across the country. She is a recipient of various awards - Virangana Matrushakti Samman, Gwalior 2009, Afzal Smruti Samman 2009, Lokprabha Samman Mumbai 2006, Kamal Sethia prize 2007 and many others. She has published a book on Madhubani folk art by the name "MITHILA

  Justice(Retd.) V.S. Kokje

Justice Kokje graduated in Mathematics from Holkar College Indore. He also did MA in Sociology and then Law from Govt Arts and Commerce College Indore. He has been practicing Law for 26 years and specializes in Labour & Industrial Law, Company Law, Civil Laws, Election Petitions, Writ Petitions etc. Justice Kokje worked as President, M.P. State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in addition to duties as Judge of the High Court. He took charge as the acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court for over 11 months.

After retirement Justice Kokje was appointed Governer Himachal Pradesh in 2003 and laid down the office after 5 years in 2008. Presently he is practicing as senior advocate Supreme Court of India and is also involved in social work.

  Annie Pawar

Mrs. Annie Pawar studied in M.S University Baroda and did post-graduation in English Literature. She taught for a year and then joined State Bank of Indore as a probationary officer. She became the first lady branch manager in Madhya Pradesh . She has worked in all areas of banking including credit, personnel, HR and policy planning. She retired in 2009 as general manager - planning and technology.

Persently she is involved in training and empowerment of women and advocacy for child rights and social justice through various forums and organizations. Mrs Pawar is passionate about education especially value education and believes that it is in schools that children shape their destiny as well as the nation's destiny. She believes that the teachers have a great responsibility and privilege to make a difference.
