Launch of Indus World School

At the Indus World School we believe that each child is multitalented and has infinite potential, and that this talent must be nurtured. In keeping with this philosophy, the Indus World School was launched with a first of its kind event in Hyderabad, where students who have displayed a talent for the performing arts shared the stage with flute maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.

At Indus, we believe that true talent must be mentored by the best. At the launch of the Indus World School on November 19 2005, this vision was celebrated with dance performances from school children of Hyderabad and flute recital by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. During the course of the evening, parents who accepted and encouraged the true talent of their children over more conventional career choices were also felicitated.

Over 1100 invitees gathered at the Convention Hall of Hotel Viceroy for the launch of the first Indus World School. Present among the invitees were academicians, researchers, bankers, sportspersons, officers of the IAS, IPS and IRS, members of the corporate world and over 400 families.

The program began with a rendition of the Saraswathi Vandanam, following which the welcome address was delivered by Col. K Mowar, Executive Director of the Nalanda Foundation (NF). Col. Mowar introduced the school’s philosophy and aim to the guests.

This was followed by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia’s flute recital that left the audience spellbound. With Panditji interacting with the audience and playing their requests, the one and a half hour program predictably went beyond the stipulated time, much to the joy of the gathered guests.

Under the aegis of Mathru Devo Bhava and Pithru Devo Bhava, the sports stars were invited to honor their parents. Cricketer VVS Laxman and hockey center forward Mukesh Kumar felicitated their parents. Captain of the Indian women’s cricket team Mithali Raj and tennis star Mahesh Bhupati were also invited to participate in the program, but could not attend due to prior engagements.

Next on the program was an eloquent address by Satya Narayanan R, Chairman and Chief Mentor at NF. Satya talked about his dream of starting schools that nurture the unique talent of each child, and how that dream is coming true with the launch of the school in Hyderabad. After Satya’s speech, the Indus World School was launched with the formal release of the school’s brochures.

The program was concluded by a vote of thanks by R Sreenivasan, Chairman of Indus World School, Hyderabad.

Judging by the audience response, good wishes and blessings that poured in the program was a definite success. The entire program, from the felicitation of the parents to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia’s riveting performance, showcased the philosophy of the Indus World School.
