Launch
of Indus World School
At Indus World School we believe in learning by doing.
We believe that education cannot be limited to the four
walls of the classroom, and it is because of this philosophy
that everything under the sun is part of the curriculum
at Indus.
Our philosophy was put into action at the launch of
the Indus World School in Indore. Students got an opportunity
to test this philosophy in the company of flute maestro
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at Sayaji Mahal on January
9 2005. In the program organized by the school, students
performed in the company of the flute maestro, and experienced
the joy of learning by doing.
Pt.
Hariprasad Chaurasia led the students in a program,
where the performances by the students were as bewitching
as those by the maestro himself. Pt. Hariprasad
Chaurasia’s performance was marked by a range
of complex and simple tunes, the students paid homage
to the maestro by showcasing their talent through folk
and devotional tunes. Performances by the students,
Sameer Rao, Parag Chhabbra, Nivedita Pandya and Srichandra
Aggrawal, ranged from soulful renditions of folk songs
to lively patriotic tunes.
The program was very successful in showcasing the philosophy
of the Indus World School, as well as giving the students
and the parents a chance to experience success in “careers
that might be”.

After the performances, the school’s Chairman,
Sujit Bhattacharyya spoke about the school’s purpose
and aim, and felicitated the people associated with
the school. The program concluded with a vote of thanks
by R Sreenivasan, Chairman, Indus World School, Hyderabad
and Deepak Pillai, Project Manager, Indus World School,
Indore.
